(ANSA) - STRASBOURG, OCTOBER 22 - "I am very disappointed by
the decision, or rather by the non-decision of the European
Council" on enlargement, "North Macedonia and Albania had the
right to expect the opening of negotiations because these
countries have made a lot of efforts. It is a huge mistake not
to have opened negotiations with these countries, we strike at
their heart," said the president of the European Commission,
Jean-Claude Juncker. "If the EU gives the impression that It is
making a promise and then does not keep it, no one in the world
will respect us," he added.
