(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCTOBER 29 - The economy of Lithuania is
expected to grow by 3.1% in 2019, from the 2.7% expected earlier
this year, surpassing market expectations, Erste Group Research
said in a special report today. However, "the outlook for next
year is gloomier, mostly due to weakening foreign demand, the
unsolved Brexit issue and increasing protectionism," Erste
added, forecasting a 2.4% GDP growth in 2020. Lithuania is "a
small and open economy" with exports accounting for up to 80% of
GDP and the country is "heavily exposed to slowing economic
activity in the EU, especially in Germany," Erste added.
