The fourth WHO-Central European
Initiative (CEI) Western Balkans meeting will take place in
Trieste, Italy, on November 12-14, 2024, as part of the WHO
Roadmap for Health and Well-being in the Western Balkans
2021-2025. The Western Balkans' Heads of Government endorsed the
roadmap at the Central European Initiative (CEI) Summit in
Budva. It promotes international cooperation and encourages
increased investment in health.
The 2024 meeting will focus on comprehensive and integrated
management of complex chronic conditions, as well as existing
challenges and strategies in Western Balkan service delivery
models. The EU model will be presented, which outlines how the
European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Health Emergency
Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA) address medicine
shortages in the EU. The three-day meeting will be co-organized
by WHO/Europe and held at CEI Headquarters in Trieste, Italy.
