(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 31 - If the European Union continues
to isolate Kosovo, we will consider institutional initiatives or
a referendum on the reunification of Kosovo with Albania, Kosovo
President Hashim Thaci said today. "This could happen with the
adoption of a resolution in parliament or a referendum in Kosovo
and Albania, including also Presevo, Bujanovac, and Medvedja,"
said Thaci, cited by the Serbian media.
Presevo, Bujanovac, and Medvedja are the three most important
municipalities of the so-called 'Presevo Valley', an
Albanian-majority region in southern Serbia, which Kosovo
claims.
Pristina is more and more critic of the European Union for
the delays in the promised liberalization of the visa regime for
Kosovar citizens.
"If the EU does not want to accept two Albanian states with
two flags, then it will accept only one flag," underlined
President Thaci. According to Thaci, never before has the idea
of correcting a historical injustice been closer, reuniting the
Presevo Valley with Kosovo. (ANSA).
