Covid: 2,400 Russian vaccine doses arrive in Serbia

Another 6,000 were previously delivered to Hungary

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, DEC 30 - Serbia received 2,400 doses of the Russian vaccine 'Sputnik V', that could be administered at the beginning of 2021, local media reported on Wednesday.

According to the Health minister Zlatibor Loncar, quoted by the regional television N1, the Serbia National Medicines Agency is already testing the vaccine and it is expected to approve its use in early January. Serbia started vaccinating against Covid with the Pfizer-Biontech vaccine already on December 24.

On December 28, the Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced the arrival of 6,000 doses of the Russian vaccine in Hungary. The EU country is already ongoing the vaccination against Covid using the Pfizer vaccine. (ANSA).
