Hungary: Erste, industrial output up 6.1% in May
Sector remains 'resilient to global slowdown'

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 05 JUL - The volume of the industrial
output in Hungary grew by 6.1% year-on-year in May based on
working-day adjusted data, Erste Group Research said in an
instant comment today, quoting Hungarian official data.
"The actual figure proved somewhat higher than our estimate
of 5.6% y/y," Erste added, noting that on a monthly comparison
the "industrial output rose by an impressive 1.4%," in
particular thanks to the results in the manufacturing of
transport equipment.
"The latest industrial figures can again be seen as proof that so far the performance of the sector has proved surprisingly resilient to global, especially German, slowdown" and that the "industrial performance could remain strong, and the sector could be important driver of GDP growth in 2019 and 2020," Erste said.
