Strong rate of deaths in the Czech Republic

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 27 OTT - The Czech Republic, after Belgium, is the EU country with the highest 14-day cumulative number of COVID-19 cases per 100,000, new data made public today by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) show.

The 14-day cumulative rate of cases per 100,000 inhabitants is 1390.9 in Belgium, followed by Czechia (1379.8), Luxembourg (760.4) and Slovenia (732.8), compared to 303.5 in Italy, show ECDC data. A high number of infections in the past two weeks was observed also in Slovakia (455.0) and Croatia (406.9).

The Czech Republic is currently registering the highest 14-day cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths per 100,000, 12.3 per 100,000, followed by Belgium (5.8), Hungary (5.5.), Romania (5.2), France (3.3), the United Kingdom (3.2), Bulgaria (3.2), Croatia (3.1), compared to 2.1 in Italy. (ANSA).
