Covid: Germany, almost all of Italy is a risk area

From 11 to 13 regions, including Liguria and Campania

30 October, 13:19
(ANSA) - BERLINO, 30 OTT - Germany has updated the list of Covid risk areas: almost all of Italy and Austria are part of it. In recent weeks, the Robert Koch Institut had reported 11 Italian regions as "red zone". The new list includes now 13 regions, with addition of Liguria and Campania, and the province of Bolzano/Bozen. The Italian regions already reported on the 23 October were Valle D'Aosta, Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Lombardy, Piedmont, Sardinia, Tuscany, Veneto, and Umbria, and the province of Bolzano/Bozen. After today's update, the list includes Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Cyprus. Some regions of Greece and Latvia are also reported for the first time, along with regions of Denmark, Portugal, Sweden and Lithuania. Monaco, San Marino and the Vatican are red zones, too. Foreign minister's "discouragement", following the recommendation of the Robert Koch Institut, does not entail a travel ban. However, those returning from all the above mentioned countries will have to comply with a quarantine, or undergo a test and wait for a negative result, before leaving their homes. Even a large part of Germany, where a semi-lockdown will take place from November 2, involving hotels with a ban on overnight stays for tourist purposes, is now a risk area.
