(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, APRIL 20 - Palestinian elections on
May 22, with "much probability" will be postponed, said Nabil
Shaat, one of the closest advisors to Palestinian President
Mahmoud Abbas.
He said the reason is Israel's refusal to allow voting in East
Jerusalem.
He said if Israel continues to ignore the requests by the
Palestinian National Authority (PNA) to hold elections in East
Jerusalem, "the vote will be postponed".
Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki is currently on an
official visit to Belgium, where he met with EU foreign policy
chief Josep Borrel, to push for EU pressure on Israel on this
issue.(ANSAmed).
