(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 26 - Pope Francis told Asian youths
Tuesday they should accept themselves the way God made them
citing Italian acting legend Anna Magnani, who died 50 year ago
today, recalling that she cared about her wrinkles, for the
experience they marked.
Speaking about bullying and body shaming in an online meet with
some Asian universities, Francis said that in today's society,
too often, "you have to appear rather than be what you are".
He told the young people that it doesn't matter "whether you are
fat or thin, tall or short, the important thing is that there is
harmony in your heart".
He cited "an Italian actress, Anna Magnani, who said that she
didn't want to get rid of her wrinkles because she had spent so
many years getting them". (ANSA).
