(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 2 - The father of Luca Attanasio, the
ambassador to Congo who was killed on 22 February 2021 in an
ambush together with escort Carabiniere Vittorio Iacovacci and
WFP driver Mustapha Milambo, on Thursday welcomed Pope Francis's
description of his son as a "sower of peace and hope".
"From the point of view of the search for truth, I hope that
Pope Francis' visit will spur the Congolese authorities to
cooperate, something I have not seen so far," said Salvatore
Iacovacci.
Salvatore is still waiting to know exactly what happened to his
son.
"We hope that public opinion will keep his memory and attention
alive so that the institutions do not let up," he added to ANSA.
