(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 31 - Pope Francis said on a plane flying
over the Sahara desert taking him an a trip to the DRC and South
Sudan Tuesday that people should spare a thought for the
migrants who didn't make it across the desert in their quest for
a better life.
The Pope, on his way to the Democratic Republic of Congo, flying
over the Sahara desert, asked journalists to think and pray in
silence for "all those people who, seeking a bit of well-being
and freedom, did not make it".
He also asked them to pray for all those who, trying to reach
the Mediterranean, ended up in "lagers (brutal detention camps)
and suffer there.
"We pray for all those people", said the Argentine pontiff.
