The Vatican said
Thursday that Pope Francis will visit Bulgaria and Macedonia in
May.
"In response to the invitation of the respective highest
authorities of the Republics and of the Catholic Church, His
Holiness Pope Francis will make an Apostolic Trip to Bulgaria
from 5 to 7 May 2019, where he will visit the cities of Sofia
and Rakovski, and to the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia
on 7 May 2019, where he will visit the city of Skopje," read a
statement by the Director of the Holy See Press Office, Greg
Burke.
"The programme for the trip will be published in due course".
