Hellas Verona beat relegation-battle
rivals Sassuolo 1-0 at home on Sunday thanks to a goal in the
79th minute by Polish forward Karol Swiderski.
The win provisionally lifts Verona up to 17th place and out of
the relegation zone, with 23 points from 27 games, ahead of the
rest of the weekend's fixtures.
Sassuolo, who put Davide Ballardini in charge on Friday after
sacking Alessio Dionisi last week and losing 6-1 to Napoli on
Wednesday with academy coach Emiliano Bigica on the bench, are
second bottom with 20 points.
