(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 3 - Italy's Jannik Sinner beat world no 2
Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals of the China Open Tuesday to
move up from six to world no 4.
Sinner beat the former US Open and Wimbledon champ in two sets
with a score of 7-6(7/4), 6-1.
Thanks to this success, Sinner will reach fourth place in the
Atp ranking, equalling the best placing of an Italian tennis
player, that of Adriano Panatta in 1976. (ANSA).
