Charges were dropped Friday against
Juventus Chairman Andrea Agnelli and Napoli Chairman Aurelio De
Laurentiis who had been facing bans of about one year in a
capital gains case brought by Italian soccer federation (FIGC)
prosecutors.
A term of one year had been requested for Agnelli and a fine of
800,000 euros for the Turin giants, which was also dismissed.
Prosecutors had asked for a ban of 11 months and five days for
De Laurentiis, plus a 392,000 euro fine for the Naples club,
which was also dropped.
In all, 59 executives and 11 clubs, five in Serie A and the
other six in Serie B and C, were cleared.
The other top flight outfits involved were Sampdoria, Genoa and
Empoli.
