Matteo Berrettini's bid to reach his second grand slam final ended on Friday when he lost 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to Rafa Nadal in the semi-finals of the Australian Open.
The Spanish great will face the winner of the match between Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.
Berrettini, who lost to Novak Djokovic in last year's Wimbledon final, had become the first Italian man to get into the semi-finals of the Australian Open by beating France's Gael Monfils in the last eight.
