Bruce Springsteen's guitarist Steve
Van Zandt aka Little Steven on Thursday added his voice to the
campaign to save the 'La Scala of Football', Milan's iconic San
Siro stadium, after Inter and Milan build their joint new ground
to replace it.
"We must save San Siro," said the Italian-American musician and
actor, also known for his prominent role in the cult TV series
the Sopranos.
The tweet was retweeted by the Sì Meazza Committee, which is
fighting against San Siro's planned demolition.
"We have built enough skyscrapers and shopping malls in the
world," tweeted Van Zandt, "but there is only one San Siro!
"Use this email address and sign your name to say San Siro
Forever!"
He listed the committee's email address.
The official name of the ground, which is located in Milan's San
Siro district, is the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, after the Inter
great.
