(ANSA) - Rome, September 19 - Deputy Premier and Interior
Minister Matteo Salvini said Wednesday that every effort will be
made to land the 2026 Winter Olympics for Italy.
"The Olympics bring lots of money and investment advantages
and we will work to get everyone to agree, doing everything
possible to have them hosted in Italy," Salvini said.
The regions of Lombardy and Veneto have said they intend to
push ahead with a joint Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo bid for the 2026
Games after a plan for a three-way bid also featuring Turin ran
aground.
