An Italian leukemia sufferer has got a
bone-marrow transplant from a donor in Russia despite huge
logistical problems due to the war in Ukraine.
The transplant, from a donor at a five hours flight from Moscow,
saved the life of a 55-yar-old Cosenza man in a hospital in
Reggio Calabria.
The donor was found by the Italian Ibdmr donor register and a
'chain of solidarity" was organised with flights to Moscow and
from the Russian capital to Reggio via Turkey.
