There are now 20 confirmed cases of
monkeypox in Italy, Health Undersecretary Pierpaolo Sileri said
Wednesday.
Some 19 of them were linked to air travel where a chain of
contagion had been identified.
He said the spread of the virus was not at all comparable to
COVID-19.
Sileri said other cases may emerge in the comings days given the
incubation period of up to two weeks.
He was speaking on the radio show Un giorno da pecora, on state
broadcaster Rai's Radio Uno station.
