A national federation
representing Italian physicians on Wednesday urged Lower House
Speaker Roberto Fico to suspend a press conference organized
Thursday at the House by an anti-vaccination organization from
Veneto.
The president of the National Federation of the Guilds of
Doctors and Dentists (Fnomceo), Filippo Anelli, signed the open
letter to Fico expressing the "concern of the medical world for
the promotion, moreover in an institutional place like the Lower
House," of information considered by the Italian Medicines
agency (Aifa) as "scarcely reliable" and which could create
"unjustified alarmism" in the population.
The press conference is organized by Veneto-based
organization Corvelva - the Veneto regional coordination for the
freedom of vaccinations - to publicize the results of some tests
carried out on vaccines in private labs.
