(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 3 - A Catania judge's ruling striking down
parts of the government's recent migrant legislation because
incompatible with the Constitution, conventions and EU law can
be challenged, Justice Minister Carlo Nordio said Tuesday.
"I have already read it and I believe there are well-founded
reasons to appeal to the (supreme) Court of Cassation in
agreement with the Ministry of the Interior," Nordio said of the
judge's decision not to validate the detention of three
migrants.
Nordio was replying to ANSA on the sidelines of an initiative in
Perugia.
The minister spoke of a measure being "studied and assessed on
its merits". (ANSA).
