Some 140 people, all foreigners, were
cited for basic-income fraud totalling some four million euros
in Cagliari on Friday, police in the Sardinian capital said.
Those cited are accused of using false declarations to obtain
the government's 'citizenship wage' from 2019 to the present.
Police said they would be stripped of the benefit if found
guilty.
Police are assessing the positions of another 478 foreigners
suspected of basic-income fraud.
