Lombardy Governor Attilio Fontana
got a police escort Tuesday, La Stampa newspaper reported
Wednesday.
Prosecutors in Varese north of Milan decided on the escort
after "the climate around the governor became incandescent",
police said.
Two murals in Milan called him a "murderer" and he received
threats on the Web.
Fontana said Wednesday "nothing changes for me, my work
continues with the same determination as ever. For the good of
the Lombards and Lombardy".
