Premier Giuseppe Conte said Tuesday
in a letter to the America Oggi daily for the US Italian
community that "it's still too early to make forecasts on the
end of this emergency but we will come out of it, we'll emerge
thanks to the work of all. I renew my greeting to you all and I
direct the same message of courage and hope. United, we'll make
it".
Conte said the government had taken "painful decisions" to
lock down the nation, but had charted the way out of the
emergency.
He said Italy was going through the "most difficult moment
since the Second World War".
