Filippo Anelli, the head of the
Italian federation of surgeon guilds, on Monday launched a
campaign warning that the drive for greater autonomy of
Lombardia, Veneto and Emilia-Romagna could have "serious effects
on citizens' health".
One of the main jobs of Italy's regional governments is
providing health services and there are fears that inequality
could be created by some regions having more control over their
budgets than others.
