Premier Matteo Renzi has
said his government wants to double the bonus low-earning State
pensioners get and extend it to all those on 1,000 euros a month
or less.
"Those on pensions of up to 750 euros are given a
so-called 14th payment, which is about 40 euros," Renzi said.
"We are trying to lift this threshold. Our aim would be
lift it as much as possible to pensions of 1,000 euros.
"Let's see if we can do it. We'll also double the 14th
payment payment so they have 80 euros in a single installment,
instead of 40".
