The EU without Britain "is poorer
in terms of defence and security", Italian Defence Minister
Roberta Pinotti said Friday after the UK voted to leave the
European Union.
"NATO will continue playing its role (in the region) and as
such, Great Britain will continue ensuring its essential
contribution," Pinotti said.
The time has come to set up a common EU defence, Pinotti
added.
"We have the chance to realize it and we must act with
determination," she said.
