Interior Minister Angelino
Alfano said Friday "we have in Italy four mosques and more than
800 Muslim places of worship. We will shut the unauthorised and
irregular places, not to prevent worship, but so that worship
takes place that comply with all the authorisations envisaged by
our laws". Italy has stepped up surveillance at Muslim sites
after the November 13 attacks in Paris that killed 130.
