The Italian Embassy in Algiers celebrated National Unity and Armed Forces Day, in the presence of the ambassadors and military attachés of the countries accredited to the North African country, a delegation from the Algerian Ministry of Defence, a large representation of Italians living in Algeria and all the staff of the Italian diplomatic mission. This was reported by the Italian diplomatic representation in Algeria on its social networks.
In his speech, Ambassador Cutillo emphasised the role of the armed forces in defending and guaranteeing peace and security in Italy and around the world. For his part, the military attaché, Colonel Ciro Piergianni, after addressing "an emotional thought" to the fallen soldiers, stressed "the need for our daily commitment to defend independence, freedom and democracy, won thanks to their extreme sacrifice".
