Milan's Arcimboldi Theatre has
cancelled two shows by a Ukrainian born Russian identifying
ballet dancer who has a tattoo of Russian President Vladimir
Putin.
"Perhaps the climate has changed forever," organisers of
'Ballet's Rock Star' Sergei Polunin's shows told Corriere della
Sera Friday.
Theatre Director Gianmario Longoni told the Milan daily that the
decision had been made with the ballet troupe.
He said "the climate does not exist to put on a dance show and
transmit the correct sensations".
There had been protests against the two shows scheduled by
Kherson-born Potunin, one of the world's top dancers.
The Arcimboldi said it would refund the 3,500 tickets it had
sold.
