Hollywood star George Clooney was greeted by tourists crying "George! George!" as he glided through the city's canals Friday in the company of fiancée Amal Alamuddin and close friends Cindy Crawford and Rande Berger. Rumor has it the Hollywood couple is to wed Monday at Venice city hall, which is housed in a sumptuous 13th-century palace that will cordoned off and protected by police on the day.
The ceremony reportedly to be celebrated by former Rome mayor Walter Veltroni will cost Clooney 3,600 euros, which is the going rate for any non-EU citizen wishing to tie the knot in Venice city hall.
