At least 20 passengers, including six
Italians, were severely injured in a bus accident near the
ancient Inca town Machu Picchu, in Peru, local authorities said
Tuesday.
The Italians are hospitalized in Cuzco with multiple fractures,
according to the same sources.
Italy's embassy in the Peruvian capital Lima, in close contact
with the Italian foreign ministry and local authorities, is
assisting the Italian tourists involved in the accident and
their families, foreign ministry sources told ANSA.
