A 26-year-old who suffered a rare form
of fulminant hepatic failure after sunbathing at her countryside
home received an emergency liver transplant at Turin's Molinette
Hospital, health officials said Wednesday.
The young woman from the Piedmont city of Alba lost
consciousness while sunbathing and was taken to hospital where
she was diagnosed with acute liver failure which made the
complex life-saving transplant necessary, the sources explained.
