Heavy traffic is expected on roads
across the country over the weekend as many Italians will be
departing for their summer holiday.
Road police said traffic will be "critical" on Saturday morning
to then become "intense with possible problems" during the
evening.
On Sunday, traffic will be intense in the morning.
It is also expected to increase in the evening due to
holidaymakers who will begin to return from their vacation.
Lorries will not be allowed to travel from 8 to 22 on Saturday
and from 7 to 22 on Sunday.
An estimated 28 million Italians were expected to hit the road
to reach their holiday destination in the first two weekends of
August, Italy's highway company Autostrade per l'Italia (ASPI)
has said.
