Siena prosecutors are investigating
allegations that three Italian fencers raped a 17-year-old
female fencing champion from Uzbekistan in the Tuscan town of
Chianciano Terme in August.
The alleged attack took place between August 4 and 5 during a
training camp that athletes from several countries took part in.
Two of the athletes have been put under investigation.
The third is a minor.
The Italian Fencing Federation (FIS) said it has cooperated with
investigators and is ready to stand as a civil plaintiff if the
case goes to trial.
