Russian President Vladimir Putin
currently has no plans to meet with Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, the
President of the Italian Bishops' Conference and Pope Francis'
emissary for the Ukraine peace initiative, Kremlin spokesman
Dmitry Peskov was quoted by Tass as saying on Monday.
On May 26 Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin
said that Cardinal Zuppi was the "sole interlocutor" of
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President
Vladimir Putin in the mission in support of peace in Ukraine.
Pope Francis tasked the Archbishop of Bologna with leading a
peace mission, in agreement with the Secretariat of State, on
May 20.
He is asking "to meet the two heads of state", said Parolin.
