A Turin school head teacher has
banned students from wearing fake nails in the classroom saying
they are unhealthy and can hurt classmates, Turin daily La
Stampa reported Tuesday.
The ban has been implemented by the head of the Tallone
secondary school at Alpuignano, on the outskirts of the Piedmont
capital.
The principal, Silvana Andretta, told the paper her ban was not
an order but a "piece of advice".
"Fake nails spoil your health and can hurt classmates," she
wrote on the school's electronic register.
She said fake nails clashed with a standing order for simple and
suitable school attire.
