Magistrates union ANM on Monday
condemned the fact that an Italian flag was draped over the
coffin of right-wing terrorist Pierluigi Concutelli at his
funeral after his death at the age of 79 last week.
Concutelli, a lead figure of the now-defunct Ordine Nuovo
organization, was serving a life term under house arrest for the
1976 murder of Vittorio Occorsio, a prosecutor who was
investigating neo-fascist groups.
"The use of the tricolour, a symbol of the unit of the Republic
and of the legacy of common values and principles set out in our
Constitution, at the funeral of a definitively condemned
terrorist is an act that offends the memory of the many servants
of the State who lost their lives defending the values of
liberty and freedom, and all the victims of terrorism," the ANM
said.
