(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 3 - A 48-year-old Italian man was gunned
down in an ambush in the Roman coastal town of Ostia on Thursday
night, police said Friday.
The man, Fabrizio Vallo, had a criminal record, police said.
He was hit by five pistol shots while standing on his doorstep
in Via del Sommergibile.
Police said the hit was carried out by at least two people who
then fled the scene.
They said it may have been a "reckoning" in a drug turf war.
Ostia has seen a high number of drug-related crimes recently.
