(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 3 - A 24-year-old Italian man was arrested
Friday on suspicion of stabbing his 60-year-old father to death
in Livorno on Thursday night-Friday morning before trying to
commit suicide by slashing his wrists, police said Friday.
The incident happened in the Coteto quarter of the southern
Tuscan port city, where the two men lived together.
The motive is not yet clear.
A neighbour who heard a disturbance called the police at about
three in the morning.
Police found he father dead on his bed and the son in a nearby
supermarket where he had tried to en his life with the knife he
allegedly used to kill his father.
The young man was taken to hospital where he is said to be in
stable condition. (ANSA).
