(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 2 - Italy's anti-mafia prosecutor told
Justice Minister Carlo Nordio Thursday that hunger-striking
anarchist Alfredo Cospito should stay under the harsh
mafia-style 41 bis prison regime he is protesting against or
else go back to a high security jail.
Cospito can remain at 41 bis or return to the high security
regime, with all due caution, said the opinion delivered by the
National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office to
Justice Minister Nordio, which has an open conclusion, which
relies on the assessments of the political authority.
A document about ten pages long that - as far as has been
learned - does not give a clear indication, although it
reiterates that the decision of 5 May 2022 to apply the hard
prison sentence was well-founded due to Cospito's propensity for
running anarchist operations from inside jail. (ANSA).
