(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 31 - An Italian Holocaust denying teacher
interrupted a play on Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels
on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day last week, sources said
Tuesday.
The teacher from the Curie-Sraffa high school in Milan stood up
when an actress started reciting the number of Shoah d deaths
and reportedly said "this is your truth, you only say what suits
you, you are completely inflating the numbers".
An estimated six million people, mainly Jews, were killed by the
Nazis.
The actress, Beatrice Marzorati, responded from the stage of the
play Herr Doktor at Milan's Spazio Teatro 89 theatre, saying
"this is history".
The teacher reportedly replied "no, it is ideology".
The Senate caucus leader for the centre-left Democratic Party
(PD), Simona Malpezzi, on Tuesday asked Education and Merit
Minister Giuseppe Valditara what action he planned to take
against the unnamed teacher. (ANSA).
