Trade unions representing Italian
doctors, vets and health managers said Monday that their members
will take to the streets on December 15 to defend the national
health service and protest against its "further defunding".
In a statement, the unions called on the government to allocate
"real" money to the service for the recruitment of personnel and
for higher wages, saying Italy is third bottom in Europe for
health salaries.
