Action against violence against women
must be based on three pillars of action: prevention, protection
and certainty of punishment, Premier Giorgia Meloni said on the
occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of
Violence against Women on Friday.
"This government is in the front line to combat violence against
women and the terrible scourge of femicide," she said on
Twitter.
"We owe it to the many victims, often without justice, and to
those who are still forced to suffer this barbarity," Meloni
went on.
"The data concerning violence against women continue to
represent a national drama.
"As a government, we intend to focus our commitment on three
pillars of action: prevention, protection and certainty of
punishment."
