The former driver of a Neapolitan
Camorra mafia boss was arrested in Rome over the weekend on
suspicion of murdering three foreign sex workers in a swanky
district of the Italian capital.
Giandavide De Pau, 51, former driver of boss Michele Senese, has
a history of drug problems and was reportedly being treated for
addiction and psychiatric issues when he allegedly murdered the
two Chinese and one Colombian prostitutes within the space of a
few hours in Rome's upscale Prati district.
The two Chinese sex workers were found at two apartments in one
Pratis street and the 65-year-old Colombian at a flat in another
nearby street, having been stabbed in the back of the neck with
a stiletto during sex, police said.
A Cuban prostitute said De Pau allegedly told her he had killed
the three women and "all I remember is the blood, all that
blood", according to Italian media.
Autopsies on the three women will be carried out later Monday
and will seek to establish whether the stiletto was used in all
three murders.
