The COVID-19 pandemic emergency phase
is over but critical issues remain to be solved, while vaccines
are still important for the elderly and fragile, Health Minister
Orazio Schillaci said Wednesday.
"The pandemic has put health back at the center of the political
agenda but also the economic and social one. Today, after the
emergency phase, we must look beyond and work to solve
structural problems that the emergency has brought to light",
said Schillaci at the Merdiano Sanità Forum.
"I want to recall the importance of continuing the vaccination
campaign against Covid-19 and seasonal flu, especially to ensure
the highest level of coverage in fragile and vulnerable people
and I am thinking in particular of the elderly and those who
suffer from multiple diseases".
