Finance police on Thursday arrested
seven people in relation the alleged theft of fuel from the
vehicles of Rome trash company AMA.
The gang alleged siphoned off the fuel from trucks, as well as
stealing it directly from the company's pumps, and then sold it
on the black market.
Four of the seven suspects, who were taken to jail, are AMA
employees.
A judge ordered that assets worth over 200,000 euros be
impounded from six other AMA employees in relation to the case.
AMA President Daniele Pace said the trash company had cooperated
with the investigation that led to the arrests.
