Italian femicides rose from 108 to
125 between 2021 and 2022, the interior ministry said Monday.
Some 125 women were killed between August 1 2021 and July 31,
2022, it said.
This was an average of more than one every three days.
Some 108 of these femicides took place in a family or
relationship setting, the ministry said.
Some 68 women were killed by current or former partners.
Women accounted for 39.2% of total murder victims.
Homicides of both sexes were up from 276 to 319 over the last
year, the Viminale said.
